Snow loads

Heavy snow loads after a storm place a great deal of stress on roofs and the underlying structure of your home. This is particularly true of low slope and flat roofs. Ice damming

Ice damming occurs when repeated snowfalls or a severe storm cause a buildup of snow on your roof. As the weather warms and cools, and because your roof retains some house heat, the bottom layer of snow will melt. This water has no place to drain and backs up under the shingles causing a leak.
